Toshiba showcased Encore tablet and Satellite Click notebook at IFA 2013. Toshiba has showcased two new touchscreen devices in the event of IFA 2013 in Berlin. The devices by Toshiba dubbed as "Encore" a 8-inch tablet and 13.3 inch Satellite Click notebook. The Encore tablet is an 8-inch full Windows 8 tablet powered by an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor. It features a 1280×800 pixel resolution, a 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a microUSB 2.0 port, microHDMI, microSD and Wi-Fi GPS. The Encore tablet boasts an 8MP rear camera , 2MP front-facing camera and dual microphones for programs like Skype. The dimensions of the tablet are about .42-inches thin and comes in at just a tad over a pound (17 ounces). It’s a handy and easily portable device.The company mentioned that the Encore tablet has been developed in close association with Microsoft and has been optimized for Windows 8.1. It is also well-suited with both Windows 8 apps (Modern UI apps) and legacy Windows programs.
The Encore tablet comes preloaded with the full version of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 and Xbox SmartGlass app that turns the device into a secondary screen for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One gaming consoles. It seems that the tablet will retail for around $330, starting in November.
The new Satellite Click tablet or laptop includes a 13.3-inch display with the 1366×768 resolution. It contains a detachable keyboard and trackpad with it and priced at $599. The keyboard dock also has its own battery and full-size USB 3.0 port.
The Click tablet is powered by AMD’s A4 processor and has an amazing battery life. It includes a 500GB hard drive, microHDMI and MicroUSB.
Toshiba has also showcased another device alongside the above mentioned tablets, the 11.6-inch notebook – Satellite NB15T, which includes Intel Celeron processor,has 500GB hard drive and 4GB RAM.
