Microsoft likely to peel the cover of Surface tablets on September 23

Just like Apple, Microsoft has sent out invitations to the media for the 23rd September’s event. The event will be held in New York and it is expected that Microsoft will unveil its new Surface tablets, most probably to throw a challenge to its competitors including Apple, Samsung, that are dominating the market today.
Microsoft's event will come 13 days after Apple's long-awaited press conference held on 10th September. Email invitations to the "Surface NYC event" revealed little more than time and place details displayed over a graphic image of a Surface tablet and matching keyboard. It is expected that the second-generation Surface will include a new cover that features a built-in battery. It is also expected to include Intel's Haswell processor, which will help increase battery life.

It is worth mentioning here that Microsoft dropped the price of its high end devices up to $100 last month. The  Surface Pro for $799 or $899, depending on memory capacity and the Surface RT price dropped to $349 from $499 for the US customers.
