PCB declared squad for ICC Champions Trophy, dropped Afridi, Gul, Akmal

The ICC Champions Trophy 2013 is slated to begin from 6^th June and PCB declared the 15 member squad. PCB dropped the names of Shahid Afraidi, Umar Gul and Umar Akmal form the Champion Trophy. Afridi was dropped due to his bad performance in the past year.The squad was declared by chief selector, Iqbal Qasim on Monday after getting the chairman PCB approval. The selection committee made some changes in selecting the squad for Champion Trophy.

Musharraf guilty in Bhutto’s murder case

There are solid evidences which claimed that Pervez Musharraf has his hands in Benazir Bhutto murder and the court ordered that Musharraf to remain in judicial lock-up for two more weeks. The interim challan showed that Musharraf is guilty and making fake statements that others are responsible for Benazir murder.The sources said that the challan is possible to be submitted in the Anti Terrorism Court on 3^rd May.

Aga Khan declared the engagement of his elder son with U.S. supermodel Kendra Spears

The famous U.S supermodel Kendra Spears is set to marry with the Prince Rahim Aga Khan. They are engaged and the declaration was made on Friday by the Aga Khan in a press release on his website.They will marry in a Muslim ceremony, no wedding date is finalized yet.

Chambaili goes to Cinemas Today

“Chambaili” a film presented under the banner of Geo Films is released today across the country. ‘I will sit among Public not in PM House’: Nawaz Sharif

Nawaz Sharif, while addressing the public in in Yazman Tehsil of Bahawalpur, said that he will serve the public devotedly, if his party will come into power. He added that he would not sit in the Prime Minister’s House but with the people to resolve their problems. He said that PML-N previously served the nation devotedly and public should vote to PML-N candidates for prosperity in the country.
Mian Shahbaz Sharif wants to be the federal minister for
water and power in order to resolve the power shortfall issue, said Nawaz Sharif.
He said that his party would commence new policies to overcome unemployment and issue loans to skilled people and lots of work would be done in the agriculture sector special projects would be introduced for Cholistan.
According to him Pakistan is facing numerous problems and if his party will come into power there would be no bomb blasts, loadsheding of gas and electricity. He claimed that the era of real democracy would start on 11^th May, which would bring prosperity in the country. Read More

Musharraf to undergo Physical Remand

Prevez Musharraf is to undergo physical remand till 30^th April. Today,  Musharraf has been taken in Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi. The ATC has ordered his physical remand to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) till 30^th April in Benazir Bhutto assassination case. FIA requested the ATC to issue orders for the physical custody of Musharraf and Judge Chaudhry Habib-ur-Rehman accepted the FIA’s request. Musharraf will re-appear in court on 30^th April for next proceedings.

Musharraf is charged with planning the murder of former prime minister Bhutto, who died in a gun and suicide attack in December 2007. Read More

PML-N to form Policies for Women’s role in running governmental affairs

The president to Pakistan Muslim League (N) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that if their party would come into power they will make participation of women in legislation and other affairs possible. They said, while speaking to the activists of the women’s wing and the former legislators of the party, that they would make policies for the positive role and participation of women in law making as well as in running the affairs of various government departments.


He mentioned that his party, if come into power, is firm to make law and the implementation of comprehensive programme for the empowerment of women, to get them out of the torture and  discriminatory treatment in inheritance done by the society.
They would be provided with soft loans, essential facilities by the PML-N for education, professions and starting their own business.
Furthermore, they would also be able to get loans for building houses, besides enhancing their participation in the judiciary, health, education, financial and other sectors of national development.
He said care centres and women entrepreneurship financing for businesswomen would also be established to assist this vital part of the society.Read More

Chances of YouTube restoration are Bright

There are bright chances of YouTube restoration in Pakistan in the first week of May, said reports. He sources claimed that the ban on video sharing website is probably to be lifted in the first week of May as the administration of Google has approached the Ministry of Information Technology in a bid to block the anti-Islamic content on the YouTube permanently. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) blocked the access of YouTube in Pakistan due to the blasphemous movie content available at the website.

PTA requested the Google to remove the anti-Islamic content but due to lack of necessary laws and agreements between Pakistan and US, the company refused the request to remove the blasphemous content from the website.
Now it appears that the matter is on the verge of its solution as the negotiation are said to be successful. The authorities followed the matter regarding to the removal of anti-Islamic content seriously and took up the matter with US diplomatic level and eventually succeeded to convince the Google administration.
Both sides to remove blasphemous content from the website on good faith have so far agreed to meet in a video conference next week.Read More

Moin Akhtar’s death anniversary observed

Legendary Moin Akhatar’s 2nd death anniversary is being observed today. He left the world to mourn on 22^nd April 2011 in Karachi after suffering from a heart attack. He was a television‚ film, stage actor and a host. He was also a play writer‚ singer‚ film director and a producer.

He was born on 24^th December, 1950 in Karachi and made his debut for television on 6^th September. He was the host of numerous shows PTV and performed several roles in TV plays/shows.Beside Pakistan he showed his outstanding performance in foreign countries. He was awarded with Pride of Performance, Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan.  He was also awarded honorary citizenship of Dallas in 1996 for his achievements. The world famous wax museum Madame Tussauds has included his wax statue in their London museum.

Mobilink Foundation aims to educate the underprivileged through the ‘Teach 2 Transform’ program

Mobilink Foundation has launched the ‘Teach 2 Transform’ (T2T) initiative to educate the underprivileged across Pakistan. The program aims to involve Mobilink Torchbearers to offer teaching assistance at marginalized schools in the country.  The pilot phase for T2T was launched at the DSRA School in Karachi where 46students benefited from teaching assistance provided by Mobilink employees.

The students were tutored in subjects including Math, English and Science every weekend, and recorded a 100% pass rate in their final exams.
The program was formally launched in Islamabad at an open air school with several Mobilink Torchbearers participating to teach students ranging from class on to ten. The school is the first of its kind in Islamabad, being run the under the supervision of its dedicated headmaster, Master Ayub, who has been running the school for over 27 years, and currently educates over 200 students without charge.

Acid attack on women in Multan

Today a terrible incident happened in Multan district where two people have thrown acid on three women. The reports said that the victims include a mother and her two daughters, living in the village Nauranga on the outskirts of Multan. They are shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan. Police claimed the arrest of one accused called Altaf and told that Altaf and Naveed had some enmity with Aziza Mai and the accused wanted to take revenge from the woman.


Police added that when her daughters tried to save their mother, the accused also threw acid on them.

PML-N to form Policies for Women’s role in running governmental affairs

The president to Pakistan Muslim League (N) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that if their party would come into power they will make participation of women in legislation and other affairs possible. They said, while speaking to the activists of the women’s wing and the former legislators of the party, that they would make policies for the positive role and participation of women in law making as well as in running the affairs of various government departments.

He mentioned that his party, if come into power, is firm to make law and the implementation of comprehensive programme for the empowerment of women, to get them out of the torture and  discriminatory treatment in inheritance done by the society.
They would be provided with soft loans, essential facilities by the PML-N for education, professions and starting their own business.
Furthermore, they would also be able to get loans for building houses, besides enhancing their participation in the judiciary, health, education, financial and other sectors of national development.
He said care centres and women entrepreneurship financing for businesswomen would also be established to assist this vital part of the society. Read More

Musharraf is under arrest, appeared before the anti – terrorism court, Senate demands to try him under article 06

Pervez Musharraf has been taken before an anti – terrorism court in Islamabad under heavy security. The case of Musharraf is heard by judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi, at the ATC which was established on Friday. Musharraf was charged that he ordered the illegal custody of judges while we has in power, his lawyer said. The judge issued an order for a two-day-long transit remand of Musharraf.


We informed you earlier that the Islamabad High Court rejected the interim bail extension plea of ex-military leader Pervez Musharraf and order his arrest.
Musharraf was whisked away from the premises of Islamabad High court to evade his arrest.He was taken into house arrest on Friday, where police have massed outside.
A spokesperson of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) party told that Musharraf has been sent on a two-day remand and he will stay at his farmhouse. Later on Pervez Musharraf was shifted to the police headquarters in Islamabad from his farmhouse residence at Chak Shahzad.
Conversely the Senate claimed to try former President Gen. (R) Pervez Musharraf under article 06 of the constitution on charges of “high treason”.
The House unanimously adopted a resolution calling upon the government to arrest Pervez Musharraf and try him under article 06. It also demanded the implementation of its resolution of January 23, 2012. Read More

Pervez Musharraf runs away to evade the court’s arrest order

Islamabad High Court has rejected the interim bail extension Plea of Pakistan’s former president Pervez Musharraf  and ordered his immediate arrest.Pervez Musharraf, accompanied by his guards, had appeared before court to look for an extension in his bail, but the court by dismissing his plea order his arrest. Musharraf  was immediately run away from the Islamabad High Court complex by his bodyguards at unknown place.


Some reports said that Musharraf will now be confined to his home, technically under house arrest, after the cancellation of his bail extension plea.
In the meantime, Musharraf’s close associate Raza Bokhari also denied that he fled from the court premises to avoid arrest.
It is worth mentioning here that former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf  was disqualified from contesting 11^th May , 2013 elections.Read More
