CM Punjab officially declares the Lahore Metro Train Project
Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif has officially  declared the Lahore Metro Train Project. He said that they would make Punjab a model province with regard to development and transparency.  He said that they made the plan for extending the route of the metro bus project in Lahore. The metro bus project will also be started in all big cities of the province, while a new bridge would be constructed over the River Ravi.
By keeping in view the needs of an increasing population, CM has directed the concerned authorities to prepare a feasibility report of Lahore Metro Train from Old Ravi Bridge to Kahana City.
The CM issued directions to outsource all affairs for ensuring speedy implementation of development projects and gave instructions to pay special attention to traffic engineering in the designing of development projects.

He said that installation of LED lights should be ensured with the implementation of all new projects.

Railway Minister announced to decrease Trains’ Fare

Khawaja-Saad-RafiqueThe federal minister of railway Khawaja Saad Rafique announced to decrease the train fare. The fares for AC sleeper has been reduced from Rs.1580 to Rs.1200 and AC business class has been decreased from Rs. 4200 to Rs 3500, while the fare for economy class remains unchanged. For the next three months, fares will be implemented on all trains by  17-57 percent except the Karakoram Express.

Pakistani Talibans say no to peace talkThe Pakistani Taliban said no to peace talk. They said that they will not change their decision of withdrawing an offer of peace talks to the government. They said that they are still in shock of their deputy chief, Waliur Rehman, in a US drone strike, said a representative of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, Ihsanullah Ihsan. He added that they wanted peace talk but the political government has no power and the powerful establishment has never shown seriousness for a peace dialogue.

Imposition of tax on Foreign TV dramas, Films, cable TV operators and satellite TV stations

Imposition of tax on Foreign TV dramas, Films, cable TV operators and satellite TV stationsThe government has imposed tax on the on the foreign TV dramas, films, cable TV operators and satellite TV stations in the budget 2013-14. The tax rates imposed by the FBR according to the fiscal budget 2013 are as follows,
  • Foreign produced films tax rate Rs1,000,000
  • Foreign produced TV dramas Rs100, 000 on single episode
  • Foreign produced TV plays Rs100, 000 on a single episode
 Tax on License:
  • The tax on license (categories provided by Pemra) fee on different ten categories imposed from the range of Rs7500 to Rs875,500
  • On the renewal license the tax rate imposed from Rs10,000 to Rs900,000.
 Tax On TV channels:
The FBR imposed different rates of  tax on different channels, on IPTV the tax on issuance of license rate is Rs100,000 and on renewal the tax rate is Rs1,000,000.
Tax On FM Radio:
On FM Radio, the tax on issuance of license rate is Rs100,000, MMDS Rs200,000 and Mobile TV Rs100,000.
 Tax On Satellite TV Channels:
The tax on issuance of license News or Current will be Rs1,000,000,
  • Sports channel tax rate Rs1,000,000,
  • Regional Language channel tax rate Rs700,000,
  • Health or Agro channel tax rate Rs300,000,
  • Education channel tax rate Rs300,000,
  • Entertainment channel tax rate Rs1,000,000
  • Specialized subject channel tax rate Rs500,000.
To acquire the rights per channel the tax on issuance of license will be as follows ,
  • News/Current Affairs Rs1,000,000,
  • Sports Rs500,000,
  • Education Rs200,000,
  • Entertainment Rs200,000
  • Children Rs350,000.

Good news For Railways’ PassengersThe good news for the passengers of Railways is that the Railways authority has decided to improve the condition of trains. The newly appointed Railways Minister Saad Rafique in a TV talk show said that the department didn’t have a single engine in perfect working condition and the fixing of the issue would take time but there are lots of other issues that can be addressed immediately like cleanliness in the train compartments, repairing of bulbs, fans,

broken basins and bathrooms in the trains. He said that the water supply would also be made sure in the train and the railway staff can be asked to behave respectfully with passengers.

Load shedding issue may take years: Khawaja AsifLoad shedding has become sever problem and to overcome on energy crises is not too easy. The Federal Minister for water and power Khawaja Asif said that it is not easy to clear the load shedding problem immediately, it may take years as load shedding was like piled up garbage of 13/14 years. The minister assured that equal load shedding will be carried out in all parts of the country,
no discrimination would be made by anyone and the duration of
load shedding would be cut short in the holy month of Ramazan.


Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif has said that a strategy has been prepared to address the issue of electricity shortage. But he refused to give any deadline for ending the menace of load shedding.

PM takes strict  notice of congratulatory ads on Govt expenditure The representative of PM office said that newly elected Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has taken strict notice of recent advertisements appearing on the national media sector, sponsored by the government departments and public sector organizations, congratulating him on becoming PM of Pakistan. These congratulatory advertisements are being made on government expenditures.

The spokesman said that Prime Minister issued directives to relevant authorities and demand explanation National Highway and Motorway Police and National Bank of Pakistan. Cylinder Blast in School Van kills 17

Cylinder Blast in School Van kills 17 A school van carrying students caught fire in Gujrat’s Mangowal area on Saturday.  The police claimed that 16 children and a teacher have been killed during explosion, while the seven children are severally injured. The incident occurred due to the leakage of gas from the cylinder, said the reports. Local police chief Dar Ali Khattak says that the children were aged between five and 15 years old. Police is investigating the incident while the reports said that the driver fled after the  fire.

Acid attack on women in Multan

Acid attack on women in MultanToday a terrible incident happened in Multan district where two people have thrown acid on three women. The reports said that the victims include a mother and her two daughters, living in the village Nauranga on the outskirts of Multan. They are shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan. Police claimed the arrest of one accused called Altaf and told that Altaf and Naveed had some enmity with Aziza Mai and the accused wanted to take revenge from the woman.


Police added that when her daughters tried to save their mother, the accused also threw acid on them.
