CM Punjab officially declares the Lahore Metro Train Project
Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif has officially  declared the Lahore Metro Train Project. He said that they would make Punjab a model province with regard to development and transparency.  He said that they made the plan for extending the route of the metro bus project in Lahore. The metro bus project will also be started in all big cities of the province, while a new bridge would be constructed over the River Ravi.
By keeping in view the needs of an increasing population, CM has directed the concerned authorities to prepare a feasibility report of Lahore Metro Train from Old Ravi Bridge to Kahana City.
The CM issued directions to outsource all affairs for ensuring speedy implementation of development projects and gave instructions to pay special attention to traffic engineering in the designing of development projects.

He said that installation of LED lights should be ensured with the implementation of all new projects.

Punjab Budget 2013-14, Rs. 210 Billion Allocated to Education

Punjab Budget 2013-14, Rs. 210 Billion Allocated to EducationThe Punjab budget 2013-14 has revealed by the Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman. To continue the Education Reforms introduced by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in his previous tenure (2008-13) Rs.210 billion has allocated for education.The laptop schemes would continue while Rs3 billion would be allocated to build more Danish Schools in the province.Have a look at the Punjab fiscal budget 2-13-14 below:

  • Allocation of Rs.82 Billion For Health care.
  • Allocation of Rs. 20.5 billion for investment in the energy sector to overcome power shortages in the province.
  • Allocation of Rs. 25 billion for women empowerment initiatives
  • Allocation of Rs. 13 billion for Southern Punjab Development Programme .
  • Allocation of Rs. 7.5 billion for subsidy to farmers on Solar Tube wells.
  • Allocation of Rs. 5 billion for Establishment of New Industrial City Economic Zone.
  • Allocation of 77 Billion Rupees for Police and upgradation and reforms in police culture with help of UAE and Turkey.
  • Allocation of  Rs.39 Billion for roads construction and upgradation.
  • Allocation of  Rs.5.5 Billion for Agriculture.
  • Allocation of  Rs.10 Billion for safe and clean drinking water and filtration plants.
  • Allocation of  Rs.5 Billion Dairy and Livestock.
  • Allocation of  Rs. 5 Billion for Ramzan Package.
  • Allocation of  Rs.2 Billion for Sports development.
  • Allocation of  Rs.3 Billion for Ashiana Housing Scheme.
  • Allocation of Rs.39 Billion for Roads construction and up gradation.
The minimum wages for laborers are to be set at Rs.10,000.

Shahbaz Sharif to be the CM of Punjab for fourth time on June 6Shahbaz Sharif has been formally declared as the 4th chief minister of punjab by the PML-N. he will take the oath of his office on 6th June.  A session of provincial assembly has set up by Punjab governor on 29th May and the elected legislators will take oath on the first day of the session. The assembly’s speaker and deputy speaker will be elected on the second day and the chief minister will be formally elected on third day.

While the Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi has said that Shahbaz Sharif will take oath as chief minister on 6th June 6 and the process of government transfer would be completed by the oath-taking of the new CM. Read More

Shahbaz Sharif to be the CM Punjab for facing rising challenges

The reports said that Shahbaz Sharif is ready to be the chief minister of Punjab. Currently he will be the CM Punjab for the fourth time because the PML-N does not wish to introduce a replacement candidate for the seat of CM Punjab. The party leaders during an informal consultative meeting related to creating governments at the Centre and in the provinces gave their consent to Shahbaz Sharif because he is the best option for CM Punjab.
The meeting was hung on Sunday at the Raiwind residence of PML-N’s chief Nawaz Sharif.
A source told to DawnNews that they initially decided to select Chaudhry Nisar Ali as the new CM Punjab but keeping in view the rising challenge with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) they commit to continue with Shahbaz Sharif as chief minister.Read More
