Pervez Musharraf has been taken before an anti – terrorism court in Islamabad under heavy security. The case of Musharraf is heard by judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi, at the ATC which was established on Friday. Musharraf was charged that he ordered the illegal custody of judges while we has in power, his lawyer said. The judge issued an order for a two-day-long transit remand of Musharraf.
We informed you earlier that the Islamabad High Court rejected the interim bail extension plea of ex-military leader Pervez Musharraf and order his arrest.
Musharraf was whisked away from the premises of Islamabad High court to evade his arrest.He was taken into house arrest on Friday, where police have massed outside.
A spokesperson of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) party told that Musharraf has been sent on a two-day remand and he will stay at his farmhouse. Later on Pervez Musharraf was shifted to the police headquarters in Islamabad from his farmhouse residence at Chak Shahzad.
Conversely the Senate claimed to try former President Gen. (R) Pervez Musharraf under article 06 of the constitution on charges of “high treason”.
The House unanimously adopted a resolution calling upon the government to arrest Pervez Musharraf and try him under article 06. It also demanded the implementation of its resolution of January 23, 2012. Read More
