IHC bars Najam Sethi to work as PCB chairman
IHC bars Najam Sethi to work as PCB chairman. Islamabad High Court (IHC) has heard the case against the appointment of Najam Sethi as the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). During the hearing the justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui barred Najam Sethi to continue to perform his duties as chairman PCB till the election of a new Chairman. Najam Sethi, who is also a Senior journalist, was appointed by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as head of PCB’s adhoc committee. The petition was filed by Ahmed Nawaz Khan who stated in his petition that formation of an action adhoc body is violation of court orders.
The IHC has also suspended the interim management committee created to look into the PCB affairs and other committee members to file their replies by the end of next month.
The IHC also appointed the Justice(r) Munir Shaikh as chairman election committee to control the election of the chairman PCB. The court has decided to hold the election next month, November.
On the other hand the Secretary PCB will be in-charge of the PCB's affairs until the elections are held.

Pakistan to play 5 ODIs and 2 T-Twenty against West Indies Pakistan to play 5 ODIs and 2 T-Twenty against West Indies. Pakistan is to play against West Indies in July. The cricket series between Pakistan and West Indies will be hosted by West Indies. There will be a series of five One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals in Guyana, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent. The cricket series will start with the first of two ODIs in Guyana on 14th July
before the two sides move on to Saint Lucia to conclude the ODIs.

The two Twenty20 Internationals will be played on 27th and 28th July at  Saint Vincent.Read More

Cricket series between Pakistan and South Africa to begin from 14th October

Cricket series between Pakistan and South Africa to begin from 14th OctoberThe initial schedule of the test series between Pakistan and South Africa get the final shape. The matches of the test series will be held in Sharja and Abu Dhabi. The first match of the series will be played in Abu Dhabi from 14th to 18th October, 2013. Pakistan  is bound to play its home series at natural places due to the serious security concerns and after the attack on Sri Lankan Team in the country .Pakistan will play its home series against South Africa
will play its home series against South Africa in Dubai in October.

2 Tests, 5 ODIs and 2 T-20 matches of the series will be played in October and November.
Pakistani team will again depart for UAE for contesting with Irland in 5 ODIs and 2 T-20 matches. The series will continue till 2014.
The Pakistani cricket team will leave for the UAE on 5th October, 2013. See the cricket series schedule of Pakistan vs South Africa Bleow:

The team played three matches and faced humiliating defeat. Now the cricket team has returned to home. The selection of the players for the Champions Trophy was not good enough. Pakistan’s coach Dav Whatmore was disappointed over the performance of the team.

He while speaking to media said that the making changes in the team was the responsibility of the selection committee.Read More

Mr. Ashraf Stopped to participate in PCB affairs after IHC orderThe chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka Ashraf had stopped working after his suspension order by the Islamabad High Court.Mr. Ashraf has stopped working as the chairman PCB till the next hearing on 13th June. He was away from the PCB affairs and the Annual General Meeting of PCB, which Ashraf to chair in Karachi, has been postponed by the Board of Governors (BoG). They also postponed the Board of Governors meeting until further
notice.

Mr. Zaka Ashraf said that the meeting was postponed by the BoG and he was no the part of it due to the court order. He added that the legislators will observe the case and decide the further action.
On the other hand, PCB legal advisor, Tafazzul Rizvi also flew down to Karachi to meet with Mr. Ashraf and other board members to discuss the future course of action. Mr. Rizvi said that they are trying to defend the case by providing the full facts to the honorable court in their response and will try to get an earlier date of hearing.Read More

PCB declared squad for ICC Champions Trophy, dropped Afridi, Gul, AkmaThe ICC Champions Trophy 2013 is slated to begin from 6th June and PCB declared the 15 member squad. PCB dropped the names of Shahid Afraidi, Umar Gul and Umar Akmal form the Champion Trophy. Afridi was dropped due to his bad performance in the past year.The squad was declared by chief selector, Iqbal Qasim on Monday after getting the chairman PCB approval. The selection committee made some changes in selecting the squad for Champion Trophy.
