Saudi Minister of Hajj declared 20 percent reduction in the number of pilgrims from abroad The Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Haj has said that they have decided to cut the number of pilgrims. The decision is temporary and is made by keeping in view the expansion plan of holy sites.Dr Bandar bin Mohammed Hajjar defends the decision of reduction in pilgrim’s numbers. The cut of the numbers of pilgrims is made 50 percent in home and abroad by 20 percent. Hajjar said that the existing development projects of the Grand Holy Mosque in Makkah

will add 400,000 sq to the present area to accommodate 2.2 million worshippers and the Jamarat Bridge will be expanded from six to 12 floors to accommodate 5 million pilgrims per day.
The Prophet’s Holy Mosque in Madinah will be stretched to accommodate more than two million worshippers.
He added that the development projects contain public transport costing a total of SR62bn. Read More
