The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) in Saudis Arabia is to ban the WhatsAppp in the country because the government is unable to monitor the activities on the application, according to a Saudia newspaper.Recently Saudi Arabia banned the instant messaging service Viber.
The ban on Whats App is to deprive the telecom companies of revenue from international calls and texts. The governor of CITC, Abdullah Al-Darrab said that they earlier banned Viber for non-compliance and Skype and WhatsApp are in the list. It is expected that the service of WhatsApp will be blocked in Saudi Arabia before the Holy Month of Ramadan. Read More
