Actor Sanjay Dutt, who is convicted for illegal possession of weapons in 1993 Mumbai blasts case, got new identity at Pune’s Yerwada Jail. He is now being known as qaidi (prisoner) number 16656. Bollywood star Munabhai was shifted from Mumbai’s Arthur Road Prison to Yerwada Central Jail in Pune and kept in separate room. He will be spending about three and half years in prison.
The Indian Supreme Court had upheld his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai
blasts case in the month of March but reduced a trial court sentence of six years to five years.
