Reduction of tax on Mobile Phone Imports with the imposition of Rs.250 SIM Activation Tax

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)  has decreased the tax on the Mobile phones import whereas imposed the Rs.250 tax on the activation of SIM cards which cellular Operators will have to pay now. Earlier, FBR imposed the tax on the import of Mobile phones which badly affected the sale and import of cell phones. The new taxes on the mobile phones are as follows;

• Cheap mobile phones‚ 150 rupees per unit sales tax
• Expensive mobiles 250 rupees per unit sales tax
